problem with XP install

I just purchased a brand new 1TB hard drive and I am doing a new clean install of Windows XP using my Dell disks.

I get through the process of formatting and partitioning and initial install. When the system goes to restart I get a screen that is mostly black filled with random blocky color pixellation. Can't figure out where to go from here except for a hard reset.

Should I take out the video card (Nvidia GeForce 6800) until I have a chance to finish the install? Should I change something in BIOS setup to avoid using the video card? Is there a problem with the install itself? When the system goes to restart after the initial portion of the setup, is the system supposed to continue startup and setup from the Windows XP install disk or the hard drive which has gone through initial setup?

Can't finish to the part where I enter users, license product key, etc.

    Thanks

Tried reseating the RAM. Is there an optimal seating configuration?

I would suggest trying the setup with the computer in it's original hardware configuration except the HDD.
