My computer crashed a few days ago, and when it came back up, my wallpaper was changed to the Xfire logo and my homepage got switched to yahoo. I cannot install some programs, and cannot paste from Firefox to anything else.

And what makes you believe this is a spyware problem and not just a software problem. Have you just tried setting your home page back to what you want? Are you saying you did that but it changes again. I doubt malware would change your home page to Yahoo.

At anyrate, if you believe you have malware problems, you must follow our standard cleaning procedures given below.

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

First you need to disable Spybot's Teatimer function because it will get in the way of making any changes.

To disable TeaTimer, run Spybot and click Mode and select Advanced Mode. Then click Tools and select Resident. Now in the right window pane, uncheck TeaTimer.
Also while this is open, in the left column now select IE Tweaks and then in the right pane make sure all the Miscellaneous locks are unchecked.
    Now quit Spybot!

I also see both McAfee and Avast antivirus applications. You must run only one AV. So pick the one you want and uninstall the other. Do that now before continuing!

You never RAN the steps in the READ ME FIRST sticky. This is required before posting HJT logs. Please complete those steps and my above instructions and then post a new HJT log.

I cant run Bitdefender, it doesnt do anything when i click the I agree thing in IE or the links in the tutorial, I ran everything besdides Bit and RAV (because it only let me scan single files). My mcaffee says something about not enough harddrive space (I have 20+ gigs free) and doesn't start.

So uninstall McAfee and keep Avast. You must use only one AV. Your other choice would be to try uninstalling both of them, reboot, and now reinstall McAfee and see if it works okay.

Okay you say BitDefender does not respond but what is the problem with RAV?

Also check the below out for BitDefender and see if it helps.
