Hi guys, My name is Jun and I have a problematic PC

    My PC is this
    Athlon64 2800++
    1GB of RAM
NVIDIA 64mb Graphics Card - So old :(
2 Hard Drive - one SATA and one non-SATA. Master is the non SATA
    Windows XP Pro

    Problem Number 1

When I start my PC i have to choose between 3 Windows XP Pro Edition. I had trouble installing my OS and after i successfully installed it i found out that I had 3 OS installed. The first one on the list does not work. The second and third on the list works. But i always use the 3rd on the list. Now i want to ask if there is a way for me to delete the other 2 so when i start my computer it automatically starts without me having to choose which OS i should run?

    Problem Number 2

When I run a scan my scanner detects a virus on a certain file. File name is Gamesetup.exe. After I delete the file, it manages to come back in a few days on the same location where it was. Is there a way for me to know which file is creating that file? I have used different Anti Virus for deleting that but nothing was successful. I have tried AVG, Panda, Mcafee. I have also tried different anti spyware like AVG anti spyware, spyware doctor and Ad-aware SE. But it just keeps getting back.

Here is a log of Hijack This, i hope this help

    • Edit by bjgarrick: Unrequested, Inline HJT log removed!
Im not actually sure what to delete so i haven't done anything yet.

    Some Additional Info

*For some reason, my office does not work. an error occurs when i open word or powerpoint. It says some mso something is missing/bad image

*I have uninstalled ICQLite, Apple Software for IPod and McAfee

I hope you guys can help me. Thanks in advance

Welcome to MajorGeeks.com, please follow our standard cleaning procedures:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifAfter doing ALL of the above and you still have a problem, make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below thread to properly use HijackThis and attach the log:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis
    • Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..
http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifWhen you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
    • CounterSpy
    • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
    • Bitdefender - from step 6
    • Panda Scan - from step 6
    • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
    • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
