problems after installing cpuid

Today i installed cpuid version 2.54 on my mainrig (it has windows vista 32bit) and it crashes when i try to start cpuid
and when i try to shutdown vista it gets to a blank screen and just sits there
i'm showing my screenshot of where it stops loading cpuid and when i try to reload it, just crashes with an error message which i forgot what it said (sorry).

I can find version 1.54
but not a 2.54

If it is indeed the 1.54 version, which did you install? standalone or one with the installer?

your right it was 1.54 (my mistake), and it was with the installer.

okay, now I can start searching for any problems and possible solutions.

Did you read this FAQ?

Q3: CPU-Z causes a general protection fault, or freezes my system, or causes a blue screen.
A: edit cpuz.ini, and replace :
DMI=1
Sensor=1
SMBus=1
Display=1

with :
DMI=0
Sensor=0
SMBus=0
Display=0

Then run cpu-z again. If it works, restore the "1" one by one, until the problem occurs again. Then send an email and mentioning which "1" is responsible.

You will find this .ini file in the same directory as cpuz.exe. There are entries above these four but those are the ones you should edit.

there's no need to search for problems i redownloaded it (i must have downloaded the one for amd cpus by mistake (i have and intel duo core 2 cpu) and it works fine.
