Hi, Recently I have had problems burning movies or mp3's onto a DVD disc. I have no problems burning audio discs on cd-r's, only error's occuring when trying to burn a DVD. I have tried various DVD-R's but to no avail. I have enclosed an error file from one of my burning sessions. Getting desperate please help:):(:)

To be honest, I've never had much luck with NeroVision. It always produced grainy or jumpy conversions or simply errored out. If you don't mind paying a little bit for an .avi to DVD converter, take a look at WinAVI. It's fast and produces quality results. But I like freeware, and of all the free ones I've tried, DVD Flick is by far the easiest and burns the best DVD videos around. And it will convert just about any file you throw at it (.wmv, .mpeg, .mov, .rmvb, .mkv, and more) Here's the link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/DVD_Flick_d5530.html and here's the link to the how-to guide in PDF format: http://www.dvdflick.net/guide.php
Try it, you'll like it. Be sure to set the burn speed in ImgBurn before launching DVDFlick to 4x for best results. It's slower, but worth it. Here's how: after installing DVD Flick, go to the DVD Flick folder in C:\Program Files. Open the ImgBurn folder and launch ImgBurn by clicking on the .exe file. When it opens, simply go to the burn options, set the speed, and exit the program. It will save the speed you picked when you close the program. Then launch DVDFlick, add your AVI file, and in about 90 minutes, you'll have a DVD for your home player! DVDFlick will also let you combine a number of AVI's into a single DVD movie... it has lots of features you may never even use (like subtitle options for example), and for a free program, it's awesome.

EDIT- before I forget.... you need about 10gb of free hard drive space each time you create a DVD from an .avi file. I set up DVD Flick to delete all the files it creates after the process is finished. It creates a folder with the standard DVD files in it (AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS at 4.3gb) and it creates an ISO image of the DVD (also about 4.3gb). ImgBurn only burns image files, so that's why it creates the ISO. You can also set it up to not burn, but only convert. Then you can burn the conversion with Nero or your favorite burning app.

Same here. I've tried various versions over the years and they consistently failed in some way or other.

But this current problem could be actual DVD burner. I had one fail recently. It still worked for CDs but wouldn't burn a DVD. It still reads both types of disk. I changed it for a new DVD burner and it solved the problem.
