A relative of mine asked me to have a look at her pc, unfortunately she is running WINDOWS ME and im not familiar at all with it. Any way, updated and ran Adaware and it found 107 Critical objects, then ran Spybot and it found none. On running Bitdefender online virus scan it found the following and was unable to delete or clean them.

    15 Identified Viruses
    21 Infected Files
    20 Deleted Files

    Win32.Worm.Bropia.B (6)
    Trojan.Downloader.Agent.GA (1)
    Trojan.Clicker.VB.EX (1)
    Trojan.Multidropper.NB (1)
    Trojan.Micro.A(1)
    Backdoor.Rbot.HY (1)
    Trojan.WinAd.26112 (1)
    Trojan.WinAd.Q (1)
    Trojan.Lopad.M (1)
    Trojan.Downloader.Small.AQA (2)
    Application.Adaware.180solutions.B (1)
    Trojan.WinAD.E (1)
    Trojan.Downloader.Agent.LQ (1)
    Trojan.Pakes.DN (1)
    Trojan.Downloader.Istbar.IS (1)

I downloaded Trojan remover from geeks and was asked to restart the pc, on doing this the pc hung on the first screen where it detects the drives etc. I was even considering wiping the drive and putting WINDOWSXP PRO on, but it wont even go past the 1st screen so I cant.
Im really stuck any help would be gratefully appreciated….I don’t wanna be defeated.

    Regards
    Nicky

Does the PC still boot in safe mode?

Does it boot to an MS-DOS prompt?

Based on that incomplet log summary of viruses you gave I have no idea what files were infected or what was deleted, thus it is rather difficult to tell you what to do. At this point your problem is outside the realm of malware since you cannot even boot (but check safe mode first - perhaps a System Restore from safe mode could be performed).

What do you mean by "first screen"? Do you mean the BIOS or POST screen or Windows log screen? If you are not getting out of the BIOS or POST screens, you are definitely in the wrong forum.

Most PCs that came with Win ME on them would unacceptable slow (at least from my viewpoint) if you put Win XP on them. Windows 2000 would possibly be a better choice.
