    Hi

I've been having problems getting to the downloads section for about 6 weeks now.
If I keep trying I can normally get through after 5 or 6 or so attempts.

This does not happen anywhere else on major geeks or on any other site.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same error ?

Broken IE addon most likely, friend. You can disable them manually in Internet Options to find the culprit.

All disabled, temporary internet files all deleted - still does it

    Any other likely reasons ?

What security apps do you have installed and if some are popup blockers disable them to test.

    Avast and Spywareblaster

Had Ad-Aware 2007, but for some reason it wouldn't open (shows how often I use it anyway) Uninstalled it will reinstal later.
Don't believe its active when installed anyway, but could be wrong

Disabled Avast and Spywareblaster - made no difference
turned off pop-up blocker in IE7 - made no difference

Do you have a firewall installed? How about a popup blocker?

Have you tried using FireFox to see what happens? If not, please do so.
Also try booting in safe mode and see what happens with IE.

    Windows XP Pro firewall (default)
    ie 7 pop-up blocker

    Downloaded / installed
    Opera 9.23
    &
    Firefox 2.0.0.6

    Both work no problems :)

Will reboot in safe mode next time i remember

    Thanks

I can't believe you are still having problems i get intermittent trouble but it usually gets itself sorted.

you have some of the best helping you so it should get resolved soon.

MGs slow-es right down here every day between 11.00 and 12.00 central European time but i think that is just maintenance it always comes back up.

My computer knows that it takes me a while to get around to fixing it, so it is kind enough to have prolonged problems :D

Also try running IE7s no-addon or activeX mode, goto All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and you should have Internet Explorer no addons

I know earlier you disabled them from the full IE7 but on occasion an old and none compliant add-on may still be active, tends to happen if your Java, Adobe Flash are not current versions or corrupted.

Just tried that thanks, didnt work either.

When i previously disabled the addons they all stayed disabled except for Adobe flash
    So I uninstalled it.
    Have since downloaded/reinstalled it.

In the process of downloading new java
