Problems w/DVD burning

I visited several of the other threads yesterday. I tried DVD Flick and never could get it to Add Title. Then I tried PhotoDVD. All seemed OK until I tried to burn it. The message "Insert Media" keeps coming up. I just bought a new package of TDK dvds--so they should be good. Before I installed the software, I got all of these photos (nearly 900) into a file that is just sitting there "These Files are Waiting to be Writted to CD." Of course, the CD isn't big enough--which is why I'm trying new software.

Yes, I have a DVD burner and yes, the discs are right side up!

Maybe I should just begin again by asking the question--how do I take a lot of photos and burn them onto a DVD. (It's over 2 gigs, byw) Thanks, Janet:eek:

    Well PhotoDVD says this
It doesn't burn to a DVD; that's what you are doing wrong. Have you tried using a CD just to see if the program works?

First of all, DVD Flick is for converting video files (like AVI or MKV files) to DVD format for playback in a home DVD player on your TV and is not for what you're trying to do. If all you want to do is put a bunch of photos on a DVD, just burn them as data using Nero. Or use one of the great free burning tools available here at Major Geeks. BurnAware is a fairly new program, and I burn with it all the time with great results; another popular burning tool is CDBurnerXP (it requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or better). Here's the links:
BurnAware http://www.majorgeeks.com/BurnAware_Free_Edition_d5839.html (put a blank in the DVD burner, start the program, select 'Create Data Disc' and drag-n-drop your files or use the 'Add Files' button, then click the big red dot to start burning)
CDBurnerXP http://www.majorgeeks.com/CDBurnerXP_d4242.html (the steps a re very similar for this program, it also has extensive help files built-in)
Nero also has the option to create a slideshow from a bunch of photos that will play in most DVD players, but I have absolutely no idea how to do it (yeah, real helpful, right? ;) )

I tried what Plodr suggested. It won't burn to a CD--this is what it tells me.

I haven't had a chance to try what dlb suggests. I'm trying to get out of town for a week, so probably won't try this afternoon. When I get back and try again, I'll find this thread and respond. Thanks for all the help. J

also, make sure you have the drive enabled to record. go to my computer --> "right click" your drive, and check the recording tab.

i'm not sure about the dvd, but if you want the pics, etc., on a cd you just drag them to the drive, and then you will have files waiting to be written. like i said, i'm not sure if you can do that with dvd's, but i don't see why not. anyway, g/l - sos
