    Hi!

    About a week ago I had an Antivirus 2010 infection, which I managed to remove by using Mbam. Since then I've encountered some problems with both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

    Firstly any google search was rediricting me to ads (now gone after running SuperAntiSpyware, CCleaner and installing firewall); now any website either redirects me to add websites (usually saying 'add served by primawega' and skip link that redirects to the site I initially wanted) or comes with pop-ups.

    I really don't know what to do. Any advice will be appreciated.

    I looked at the Add/Remove programs and found something called 'loudomo contextual'; I didn't install it myself, and when googled it I found out that it was an adware. When I've tried tried to unistall it, I got a warning that the program is trying to download something and change my homepage so I blocked it. I've finally managed to get rid of it and the adds don't seem to appear anymore.

    I still have a problem with google searches though: whenever I click on the result it takes long to load and redirects to another search site. When I try to go back it shows me the site that I initially wanted.

    I runned both SuperAntispyware and Mbam, but they didn't find anything. I also tried to to run combofix, but it didn't want to install: it only showed a small progress window and nothing else. I managed to run the MGtools successfuly and I'm attaching the log.

    ComboFix doesn't "install". You should just download it to your desktop and double click it.

    Let's do this:

    Please use add/remove programs to uninstall:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Now let's see if we can use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    File::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Lena\Local Settings\Application Data\rifW
    C:\Documents and Settings\Lena\Local Settings\Application Data\{C59ED5E9-7001-46A6-84EC-D619DAEAEE6B}

    C:\Documents and Settings\Lena\Local Settings\Temp\6I6RGSSnr9JrKDn
    C:\Documents and Settings\Lena\Local Settings\Temp\AskInstallChecker.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\Lena\Local Settings\Temp\F2u__WhLKvMXmF
    C:\Documents and Settings\Lena\Local Settings\Temp\FJjp3n0P.exe.part

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the prvevious file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Thank you for picking up my post!

    I've got another serious problem though: my computer won't start (I haven't tried to run the combofix again). I've tried to install (rather my computer did) automatic updates. When it tried to switch off a blue screen came up and then went to restart. It came up with a message saying that it couldn't start windows and showed options for Safe mode or normal start up. Whatever option I choose it always does the same thing: it tries to run windows and then goes into a blue screen, switches off and starts up again. It's in some kind of a loop.

    The information on the blue screen is as follows:
    "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent the damage to your computer (...) check to be sure you have adequate disc space (...) or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. (...) Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates etc.

    Tachnical Information:
    ***STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x8050D532, 0xF7A2E3B8, 0xf7A2E0B4). "

    I suspect it might be a problem following the unsuccessful runs of Combofix. I don't think I switched off my computer since I've tried it. I usually keep it on hibernate; it's a Samsung netbook and I always carry it with me.

    I don't know wjat to do. Please help!

    If you are stuck in a loop, then you can try this:

    How to recover from a corrupt registry.

    I suggest you post in the software forum as we can not do malware removal until your system is up and stable. I will leave this thread open for when you return in a stable system.
