Problems with Firefox

Every now and then, keep getting the dreaded "firefox.exe has encountered an error and needs to close etc"

it's starting to get really annoying and happens at the most random times!
For example, it just came up when I posted my recent thread in the lounge on MG, but my post came up - hmmm.

any ideas on fixing this???

If not, send off a bug report to http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ , they might fix it in the next build.

I have got that 3-4 times this month, and just hit 'Cancel' and it goes away. In my experiences at least, it does not actually need to close.

 

all updates installed, looked on firefox board and the only options are send error report to MS or don't send.
i might give reinstalling it a go later.

 

Try deleting it and reinstalling it from a freshdownload. See if that fixes it. Also do you have an extensions or themes installed as that might cause the problem.

 

ok i'll do it later, also, no themes are installed - don't trust them anymore even if they are supposedly "spyware free" !!!!

 

How about extensions?

 

There are actually two Mozilla Firefoxes in the Mozilla Firefox main directory. One is Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode), which is extension-free. (for me start -> programs -> mozilla firefox -> mozilla firefox (safe mode).

 

Right thats another thing does the safe mode give you the same message.

 

lol don't know what extensions are, so i presume theres none on here!
i've tried safemode one too and errors still like to pop up occassionally. haven't had one since it happened earlier though...

 

Extensions are addons to firefox. If you don't know if any are installed click tools extensions and this will show you whats installed.
