    Hi,

I run ZoneAlarm Free Firewall, AVG Free Anti-virus 7.5, and Snoop Free Privacy Shield. I am generally very careful with what I download, what websites I visit, etc. However, the other day, Windows Security notified me that my firewall was not running even though it appeared to be, and during one startup ZoneAlarm said it was starting a different mode (I forget what it was called). Also, at one point my computer started acting very weird. It very rapidly kept repeating the failed clicking sound (like if a dialog box commands attention and you try to click on the underlying application whindow). Also, my browser kept scrolling all the way to the bottom of every page - even after I tried to scroll up, it went right back to the bottom.

I have done everything in the Read & Run Me First thread (ran AVG anti-spyware instead of CounterSpy). I also tried to run Rootkit Revealer, but it kept crashing whenever I tried to save the results of the scan - so I ran AVG's free anti-rootkit, which said I had no problems.

All of my log files are attached here and the next post. Thank you very much for your help

I apologize, you seemed to have slipped by us. We are very busy in the Malware forum so it can easily happen. We try our best to start with the oldest threads and work our way to new the newest threads but sometimes a thread will slip by.

Let's start by running ComboFix and see if it finds/removes anything.
    1. Download this file - combofix.exe
    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Once you complete the above, attach fresh logs from the below.

    • GetRunKey Log
    • ShowNew Log
    • HijackThis Log
    • ComboFix Log

Thanks for the help. I actually decided to reformat the hard drive, since I wanted to reconfigure the way my entire system was setup.
