Problems with Halo and possibly XP SP2

Hi,

I am running a P4 2gig system with 1 gig of ram and a Radeon 9800 XT video card.

I recently updated my system to SP2 and today I installed Halo. After all the logo movies run I either get a screen that looks like long thick white scratches or no picture at all.

I have heard some stories that Halo is having problems with SP2 but not enough to substantiate it.

I am using the Cat 4.7 drivers and have tried several others including the 4.9 betas. I have updated the game to the latest patch from Microsoft and patched up a file that they say usually fixes this issue on high end video card.

No luck. Any ideas?
