I have recently been having problems with listing stuff on e-bay using internet explorer. When I go to select a category, I can view them, but they are they will not let me select any of them to use. I called e-bay and they were able to list stuff through my account so they said It must be an issue with my browser. Does anyone have any suffestions concering this?

I have a Dell 3700 Vista laptop for a computer and am using internet explorer 7 as a browser (I prefer to keep it that way if possible). I have already cleared my chache and that didn't help. Interestingly enough, I tried to see if it would work on my wife's computer (brand new, uses internet explorer as well) and I had the same issues.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi

What I would likely try as you wish to keep that old version of IE is to update Sun Java and Adobe Flash and see if they help, install them with no IE windows open.

Do you have any toolbars installed? if so uninstall them as they can cause issues.

I tired those suggestions with no luck. I suppose I can try a newer version of internet explorer or a different browser. The only reason I do not want too is because all my bookmarks for sites and other info is already set up in my current browser.Howver, as the old saying goes, beggers can't be chosers.

    Hi

Try Firefox and see if its ok, it can during the install transfer your bookmarks so your set to go.

If its the same with Firefox then we will have to look into other options, before suggesting an update to a newer IE version, I dont wish to suggest an update to IE yet as it may hide an issue opposed to fixing it.

Since it happens on two different computers at your home, start looking at your network and security programs. You probably need to allow something on eBay that either your home network or security is preventing you from doing.

To test if it is your network, take your notebook to a hotspot and connect to eBay. If it works, then it is your network.
If it still does not work, check what security programs are common to both computers. One of those is the problem.

It took me a few days, but I was finally able to check my e-bay issue through a hot spot and, again, am having the same issues. As fas as what security programs are the same on both computers - all of them are. I have Super Anti Spyware, Skybot Search and Destroy, Comodo Anti Virus, and Spyware Blaster installed on both the computers.

I don't think SpywareBlaster is the problem. I have that installed - it works passively.
For the other three programs, disable one of them at a time. You might have to exit the program from the tray icon then also go into task manager (ctrl + alt + del) and kill any running processes still running.
Then try the eBay site until you find out which of the three is the problem SAS, Spybot S&D or Comodo.

I disabled all three programs one by one. When I disabled the anti-virus, it work for a bit. However, it is still very inconsistent and most of the time still does not work.

Can you try signing on to you ebay account from another location using someone else's computer? And, I think you, or your wife, creating a new account on ebay for test purposes might be a worthwhile troubleshooting step even though you did contact ebay.

I have it working now, and am going to set up an extra e-bay account like suggested. Thank you for all your help!
