Problems with Mozilla Firefox v 2.0

Okay, this is an odd question and I have not been able to find much help from anywhere else, so I hope someone here might know the answer.

I recently updated my Mozilla Firefox to the newest version (2.0). However, I noticed that my internet pages were not being displayed properly. For example, if I came to this page (or any page with a colored background with images), the entire page would just be white with plain black text. This especially poses a problem when I try to use Myspace.com because it takes the fun out of things when everyone's page looks exactly the same. It's annoying because I had to then reinstall and older version of Mozilla to get things back to normal, but I don't have any of the perks of the newer version. Any ideas? I hope that made sense!!

 

I don't know if this will help, but did you configure the options properly?

(At least I think I had everything configured properly). How should they be configured? and then I can double-check.

Try going to Tools > Options >then Content > and make sure that Load Images Automatically is ticked.

Thank you. Now that I have uninstalled it, I don't remember. I will give reinstall it and give it a try. I am going to feel like a dope if that's all it was! haha:booger

 

Well I tried installing it again and made sure that box was checked. Still the same problem. I wonder what is causing this!

 

did you download from the mozilla site?
i had problems with firefox but the app came from a site other than mozilla.

download from here and reinstall:

Yes, I downloaded it from the Mozilla site. I reinstalled mozilla 1.0 and it works fine, but any version higher than 1.0 does not work. It's so weird! I can't find anything on the internet where anyone is having the same problem!

Well, I went and tried everything on that throubleshooting link that you posted- nothing. So, I decided to experiment and download the Maxthon browser to see if it gave me any trouble (i have never used it before). The same thing is happening on that browser also. SO, it must be something with my computer itself? I don't understand why an old version of software would work but nothing else does???
