Around two months ago, I had to replace my dead battery. When I got my notebook back from the repair shop because it was covered in my warranty. I noticed the notebook was really really slow and would be unresponsive and I would have to turn off manually. So I sent it to them and found some viruses, that I cleaned out. But it was still really slow so they told me to buy recovery disks hoping that returning it to Factory settings it'll be back to normal. However its slow and some of the times will be unresponsive and I would have to manually turn off my notebook.

I did a HijackThis scan and got

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4
Scan saved at 7:27:25 PM, on 9/26/2011
    Platform: Windows 7 SP1 (WinNT 6.00.3505)
    MSIE: Internet Explorer v9.00 (9.00.8112.16421)
    Boot mode: Normal

    Hi and welcome.

I've deleted your hijackthis log as we are not a hijack this reading forum and also we don't allow inline logs.

So, you sent your laptop to a repair shop and it came back slow? Was it slow before you sent it there? Are you sure they completely cleaned it of viruses?

Just to be clear you did a factory reset and it's still slow even after that?

Many things can cause a computer to slow down. Not enough resources, viruses, startup items that are causing programs to run in the background.

Yeah I it was fine before. I used to be able to multi task on Chrome but now i have to do singular tasks otherwise I risk the freeze. It seems to be more apparent with stuff like Facebook or Youtube

Could you please provide your system specs. Make, model, hardware installed including RAM and OS. You can get all this information from the following program.
    Speccy

Just to clear something. Did you reset the notebook back to factory settings?

Try taking the battery out unplug the power adapter from the notebook. Press and hold the power button down for 30 seconds.

Now plug the power adapter into the notebook and leave the battery out. Start the notebook.

    Does it still respond slowly?

You should have taken it back again and showed them the new problem - they created.
