I had a primary XP partition of 80GB and a secondary XP partition of 15GB that I used for testing software. I recently installed Vista onto the 15GB partition, but quickly ran out of space for more software.

I wanted to increase the size of the Vista partition, but the option to "Resize/Move" was disabled in Partition Magic. I looked at my primary partition and saw that it still had the option to "Resize/Move"... so for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to reduce its size by 30GB. I thought maybe it would be easier to take that free space and add it to the Vista partition... but no. Now I have two NTFS partitions running OSs.. and one 30GB "Unallocated" partition.

I tried using the tool that redistributes free space between partitions... The primary partition will accept it no problem, but the Vista partition doesn't care for it:

I need help to figure out how to return to just 2 partitions, with each one about 45GB... even if it means resinstalling Vista.

i've never used Partition Magic, but is there no any otion like "merge partitions"? or you can a new partition from an Unallocated one, and them merge it with vista partition.
