Problems with processor

I have an AMD Dual-core 64bit, processor with the AM2 chipset sitting on an Asus M2N32-SLIDeluxe MotherBoard. My problem is with setting affinities. For whatever reason, even after using the Microsoft Hot Fix link to change my "perf"(that is only part of the regkey i edited, its just the only part I remember but it was designed to help dual core with solo core programmed games). But I still have to hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the programs running process, and then right-click the process and set the affinity manually.

As you could imagine this is becoming a very obnoxious task, especially for cpu intensive games such as F.E.A.R. and Battlefield 2142 Beta. Because the games are being clocked wrong with Dual Core, I will often crash out of the game when I attempt to minimize the game to set the affinity. Ans so I'm left to try to re-open the game and hope it doesn't crash again.

you can also create shortcuts to the programs that set the affinty upon launch
its been many years since ive done this though, so I dont remember how.
create a batch file linking to the proggy with some settings to set affinity
