I was trying to do a complete reinstall on a computer I have been working on.
As the disk was running, the power went out.
When I booted back up, I got an error message.

Windows/IFSHLP.SYS and Windows/System/VMM32.VXD files either missing or corrupted.
Type name of Windows loader C:

Well, I rebooted again thinking it was just a glitch and again I got this message.
I've tried to reboot using the recovery disk but everytime I get prompted to remove disk and turn computer off.

The computer is a Compaq running Win ME.

Should I try to download the files onto a floppy?

    Some help please.

Okay heres what I reccomend you do...

    1. Try and see if you can get them onto a floppy disk... Copying and pasting will be quite fun though
    2. If #1 fails reinstall your computer or repair it.
    3. If you don't have a CD compaq should be able to help you with that...Just ask their support for Windows ME

I think I'm going to have to go with option #1.
I can't do to because although I have the recovery disk, the computer just stops and ejects the disk.

So now, all I have to do is find the files I need and save them onto a floppy, right?
