Problems with sound on Win2000-Pro

    Help!
    Sometimes (often) - sound dissapears, though in general everything is working properly. Problem appears in any multimedia - music, video, games: sound just dissapears, problem going out after reboot.
    Soundcard is Turtle Beach Montego 2 recognised by OS as Aureal 8830 and reported as "working properly" even when problem appears.
    Machine confoguration: AMD Duron 1100 / mainboard-Epox 8KHAL+ / 256 Mb RAM / video-ATI Radeon 7000 / OS - Windows 2000 Professional with all Service Packs.

    Have you tried re-installing your sound drivers from the CD that came with your sound card?

    or it could be that your speakers are starting to go weird on you. have you tried another set of speakers or headphones?
