    Hi,

Firstly thank you very much for this forum to help people like us.Most appreciated.

For the past few days, I have been experiencing this problem.I could not access internet even though it says I am connected to the wireless network and the signal strength is excellent.Another laptop connected to the same network works flawlessly.

Then, I did system restore to an earlier date and then could access internet. But, soon after,IE would become slower and slower to end up internet getting inaccessible. To get connected, I had to repeat system restore all the time.

To top it all, Symantec auto-protection kept shutting off on its own and my attempts to turn it on failed.

My Spybot,Symantec AV and HJT scans showed no infections.

Then, I used ATF cleaner to remove all temporary files etc, turned off the system restore and then booted into safe mode and scanned the system again with all the above mentioned three tools coming clean.

After this, I am able to access internet and the Symantec AV is not shutting off,but the IE is still slow.

Please help me resolve this issue as I am quite concerned with this.Your help is most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Best-
    MARKIV.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Note: If you have ZoneAlarm firewall installed, a recent update to Windows has caused issues with ZoneAlarm. You need to update ZoneAlarm to get around this or you will need to uninstall ZoneAlarm. The update from Microsoft is an important security fix.

If you have malware problems, continue on with the below.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
