    Hello guys.

First of all I would like to say that your site is amazing and I really appreciate that you are trying to help people.

    My problem is the following.

I have Norton System Works which works fine, even though I think is a bit crap because it rarely cleans any viruses that it might find. From past experience I know that one of the best antivirus softwares is Panda. (correct me if I am wrong). I had Panda before and I loved it. Nevertheless, it was causing some stability problems on my system so I had to uninstall it.

Abou a week ago, Norton detected a trojan called hooker or something in System32 but could not do anything about it. Not even quarantine it. So what I installed Panda to see if I could remove it. I installed it, I restarted my system and it completely crashed after restarting. I tried restarting agai and again but I had no luck. So I used Safe mode and used system recovery to roll back my system a few days back. I then tried uninstalling Panda but it didnt get rid of everything. Some dll files remained in my system.

When I tried to go online, I had no problems but as soon as I did that, 2 files were being created on my desktop. Webexcl.dat and Webproxy.ini

So I got a bit worried because I didnt know what those files were.

I then read lots of forums to see how I can tackle the problem. I run Hijack this and it told me that there was a dll file from Panda in the Winsock LSP. So I run LSPfix and I got rid of pavlsp.dll

Do you think that will solve the problem?

Have you heard about these 2 files before?

Also, I would like some help on the following. How can I completely get rid of the remaining Panda traces? When I right click on a file there is an option that says "scan with Panda". Even though I have deleted everything that I could apart from those dll files.

Lastly, what is the best antivirus software and spyware software that you can recomend?

I will include my hijack this log so you see if there is something dodgy there as well.

THANK YOU GUYS..... I AM REALLY SORRY ABOUT THE LONG MSG.http://forum.majorgeeks.com/images/icons/icon11.gif

Webproxy.ini and the other MIGHT be from Panda, lets sweat them in a bit. Your Hijack This is outdated and should be in its own directory. Please download the newest version next time. See: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=38752

    Remove this:
    O1 - Hosts: auto.search.msn.com 127.0.0.1

I dont see much else thats a problem. All that said, we prefer AVG for Anti-virus as a free alternative, but Nortons (while bloated) is good as is Panda. I come from a gaming background so I tend to hate anything thats wastes as much resources as Nortons does. For Spyware, we suggest Ad-Aware and Spybot together. For pay, SpySweeper is one of the better pay ones currently.

I really need you to run our tutorial to see how you make out and we can move on from there, though I suspect the tutorial will fix a simple trojan problem:
