    Hey,
Iv just bought a new processor for my system.
I bought the AMD Phenom ii 955 3.2ghz Black edition (£55) on amazon, bargin.
My motherboard is Gigabyte M61PME-S2P http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3262#sp

however i cannot find the cpu wattage that it supports.

I checked originally mistaking the processor i bought for the 95 watt version thought it was compatible
On a second look (after ordering) i found it was 125w. But the cpu support list shows it doesnt support the 125w version.
I cant find anywhere where it says the amount of wattage it supports. However i can support 125w as its okay with the Phenom X4 9750.

Im just wondering as it supports the 95w version and it can support some 125w whether i will be okay, or will i have to get a new motherboard?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks
    Aieden

N/A says not support, that was my problem
    AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C3 125W 4000 N/A
    AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C3 95W 4000 F6
And at the top it says N/A = Not support
I have bought the 125w version

Oops, my bad.:-o Ask them if there's a chipset and/or BIOS rev coming up soon. I'm out of my league here. Sorry.

I agree with Augie, check the latest bios updates for your motherboard.I would also contact gigabyte on this matter and ask them if the CPU will work.

Just because its not been tested doesn't mean it wont work, often this just means the motherboard can't auto detect what the CPU is.To keep things on the safe side check the specifications for your CPU,voltage/frequencies and write them down. As soon as your turn on the computer with your new CPU installed enter bios 'del' and check everything is set to the CPU's specs.

TBH I would try it anyway and see what happens, the chances something will break are minimal,at the most it just won't turn on or won't run at its full clock.Worst case scenario you can always return the CPU.

Thanks a lot for the help. ill contact them, i doubt i would return the CPU as im looking to upgrade my whole system as its pretty out of date. I might just get a new mobo just to be on the safe side.

I mean return the CPU and exchange it for a fresh one not return the CPU and give up:-D
