Program won't remove

I manually removed a prgram from my PC but the add/remove list still lists the program and clicking on remove results in an Impossible to open up log file of C, program files, program name box.

 

What's the exact name of the program?

 

I assume you are using XP. In which case it may be that the restore function is keeping it in your setup.

Go to Performance & Maintenance and then System. Select System Restore and then select Turn off System Restore.

Go to Add/Remove programs and try removing the program.

ALso try using RegCleaner (can be found in Major Geek) and remove any components associated with the application.

Failing that re-install the programm and use the Uninstall facility provided

 

System Restore doesn't keep entries in Add/Remove.

It has nothing to do with it.

It's because it hasn't been uninstalled fully, not because of System Restore.


CCleaner can remove redundant entries from Add/Remove, and is handy anyway.

Or there are plenty of other programs or registry hacks that do similar.
