Where to begin... I spent a lot of money having a script written by people who ended up not qualified for the job. The site is an active site with more that 3500 a day on it. The problem is when we switched to a new server we found that the script is full of memory leaks that eat up the servers memory.
We have been rebooting the server to stay on top of this but is a last ditch effort at best. Is there a way to locate the memory leaks if we can not go page by page (we have almost 3000 items listed plus 1000 site pages)?

1000 site pages!!!! holy crap!!! i don't think I've ever seen more than 100 and that was a HUGE HUGE front end / back end website.

    Need more detail about it.
    what's the 1000 pages?
    did they hardcode HTML ?
    is it database driven?
what language were the scripts written in?
What Operating system (*nix or Windows)?

I fear you have quite the challenge ahead of you.

Helm is just a website (as in IIS web server) control panel. I doubt that is being used to update your product information.

I was talking to another member here via IM earlier and we both agree that you got hosed on the deal.

Oh, and to make you feel better, Windows 2003 server is an awesome server with a very good track record for security. Much more so than any previous MS OS.

In any case we still need more information. What language was the site written in?
Tell us more about the architecture of the site.

my initial suggestion would be to contact the people that made the created the scripts for you and get them to repair it or get your money back, otherwise contact trading standards and sue them :)
