Projected Capacitive Technology

Hi all. I'm new to this forum thing, but want to learn. I'm searching for a manufacturer of capacitive touchpads, or the like, that can detect motion up to a couple of inches away, ecspecially in the central Texas area. Ideally, I would like to find a person that can build a sensor and understands asics enough to help build some products. If anyone is capable and interested, or if anyone knows of a manufacturer that will help develop new designs, Please let me know. Thanks
