How do I protect a pdf file so that the text can not be copied into Word or elsewhere? It's a large file of 125 pages so scanning as an image would be difficult.

My first thought would be to enclose it in a password protected Zip folder. Then no one without the password would be able to view it. I realize that this will only protect against lower skill level users, but it is all that I can think of at the moment. I'm sure that others will have better ideas. :)

What version of Adobe Acrobat to you have? Securing the document can be accomplished using Acrobat.

www.pdfzone.com put me on right track except I now have more questions. My need is to offer for sale a book on a CD, but I want to protect the content from those that would simply hijack the content and print their own. Is eBooks the right approach? Digital ID's? or Encripting? Buyers of this book would tend to be novices with not necessarily the latest Windows, etc. I don't want them to have a hassle opening up the file. Anyone that has done something similar have suggestions?
