    Hi,

My machine has gotten some kind of proxy virus. Internet Explorer and Chrome can't connect to the internet anymore. However Firefox seems to be working for now.

When I try to go anywhere I get a 127.0.0.1:8080 error can connect to proxy.

I done the standard virus scan and nothing was detected. Did your start here and a couple of program found stuff but did not take any action as instructed.

    Here are the logs.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Run Hitman Pro again and activate the 30 day trial license. Use it to remove all the reported Malware, Malware remnants , and Potential Unwanted Programs.

Do not remove the below since you probably install it and use it.

    Code:

    [B]Suspicious files ____________________________________________________________[/B]
    [B] C:\Windows\SysWOW64\GameMon.des[/B]

    Then run the below.

Please download the latest version of FRST the below link.

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: Make sure you download the proper version ( 32 bit or 64 bit ) for your PC. Only one will run, the correct one. So it you make a mistake and download the wrong one, go back and get the other.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

I wanted to thank you for your time. I decided to re-install Windows on my machine as this virus doesn't look like it's an easy one to remove. I no long trust my machine so I opted for this. I apologizes for taking up your time.

You're welcome. It is more than likely not necessary to reinstall in order to fix this. It is not a virus. It is probably just a setting. Resetting your browser to defaults could fix it. Also I noticed an installation of AdAware AV that may be broken or incompletely uninstalled and this could cause problems like this too.
