Proxy still acting up?

I don't know why, but it seems my proxy is still acting up after having left the computer off for a couple days while I was away. I don't know if there's still malware getting in the way of performance or what, but it's something of a struggle to get it to cooperate me once I've turned the comp on.

I've tried to use the proxy guide for Firefox as well but it didn't work. It doesn't help that mine is an updated version so it doesn't match the one in the guide. There is no 'direct connection to the network' feature anymore, so I'm not sure what to do, especially when the connection starts working again. I have no idea what I have to do to make it do so. Maybe it took CC Cleaner to do it?

Just in case I did the malware detecting process and I'll throw up the logs here. Any help is appreciated.

Why do you need a proxy and what proxy are you referring to because I do not see a proxy server setup in your logs?

Please do not download tools that we ask you to download into folders like below:

    C:\Virus-Spyware Fighting Tools\MGtools.exe
    C:\Virus-Spyware Fighting Tools\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

It makes our automatic cleanup processes fail and also it will make the programs look like malware to scanners because they are not in the correct locations. MGtools.exe
should not be kept after cleanup. You need to always download the current version.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

But I did download the latest version, from the Major Geeks' site. I didn't keep the last version I had and deleted it when everything was done. Anyhow, I'm sorry that I didn't know and I'm not savvy with this stuff... I assumed it was my proxy that was what was giving me trouble last time. I didn't mean to have made things harder.

I had put those in that folder to keep them better organized but if it's really such a problem I'll do away with it. Again, I'm sorry.

I did as instructed and the computer gave me no problems over it, so it was a success.

Okay then please from now on save things where we request in our instructions. :)

But you are not using a proxy so I don't know what you are talking about. Most home users do not use a proxy server. This is the normal config. When there is a proxy seen on home PCs we would question it.

It makes our automatic cleanup processes fail because we cannot guess where you put them..

Well given one scan had listed the proxy I had kept assuming it was as such since I don't know any better. Like I said, I'm stupid with this sort of stuff. You can understand that much, I hope...

I didn't think saving them elsewhere would bother anything, for other reasons to avoid clutter. I'll try to keep that in mind next time. I'm sorry that I wound up wasting your time.

None of your logs show a proxy being used. What exactly are you referring to?

The last ordeal with malware that happened earlier this month. HitmanPro picked it up. I remember seeing it in the list after a scan.

But this has nothing to do with "Now".
In your first message you said the below
Which implies you have a current problem with a proxy.

At any rate there are no proxies configured now so the only thing that needed to be fixed was the registry patch I gave you to remove some junk. So I really need you to not mention proxies anymore and tell me exactly what problems you are currently having.

Like I said, sometimes my connection refuses to connect after I turn the computer on after a couple days. It doesn't come back on overtime unless something happens and I have no idea what the factor is. Just earlier today it wasn't working until after I ran CC Cleaner. I'm not real sure what's causing it, but it never used to be like this.

I had thought it was malware again but at this point I don't know what is going on anymore.

Okay then per your logs it is not due to malware so I suggest that you post in the Software Forum for help. Don't confuse them by saying anything about a proxy setting because you do not have any and even if you did, it would no change over a period of time all by itself.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others) and running MGclean.bat did not remove them, you can delete these files now.
    7. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Alright. Like I keep saying, I'm terrible with this stuff, so I'm not very good at discerning what the problem is without help. Please don't hold that against me.

    Thanks anyways.
