ps guard black screen and message

my desktop is black and has a message that is linked to ps guard.
also my display properties only have 2 tabs. the tab to change the
wallpaper and other tabs are gone. please help!
i have followed instructions from another thread that phattcat posted on
7/20/05 but it didn't work!!!!!

Sorry for the impatience. in the meantime i downloaded Ad Adware SE Personal and it gave me back my display settings and allowed me to delete the black wallpaper. i then used your HiJackThis program to delete the executable that was sitting in my start tray on my desktop.
All has been resolved. if anyone else has this issue they can contact me at my email address and i will share with them my resolution to the problem.......... xxxxxxxxxxxxx.....I appreciate the time you people take to help others.......as Humphrey Bogart said in Casablanca.....
