    Hello everyone,

I have a crazy issue with my PSU.
I had a 650w PSU that was running fine for about 2 years.
One day it just burned out, so I figured it probably gotten old so I replaced it.
After just few months, the new PSU burned out as well, I replaced it again.
To make the story short, I've replaced about 10 PSUs in the last 2 years, which doesn't make sense.
I've triad higher watts (750), I've triad replacing the case, I've triad using a UPS, I've checked the MB for any visual faults, I've even recently moved to a new place.

I haven't changed anything in my PC during all this time except for the PSUs.
Any idea what can be the cause for these PSUs burning.

    P.S
I've triad different brands of PSUs (some are top quality).

Could you post your system please?
I assume you are not overloading the PSU with something like dual AMD 290X graphics cards or placing the computer against a wall so the PSU cannot cool itself and that your case fans are all going the correct direction.
Next would be the voltage regulation on the motherboard. You can try:

and see if you are running higher than spec voltages.

I'll get a full spec posted after I get a new PSU.
My PC is still down and I'm writing from my phone.
But no, I'm not overloading with anything. I only have one GPU
Something out of Nvidia's 500 series (will post exact one when I'll post full spec)
And all my fans are rotating properly as far as I know.
The weird thing is, the first PSU that came with it was working perfectly for 2-3 years.
Ever since he died, no other PSU lasted that long... And nothing changed on the PC since then.

When you say "burned out" what exactly do you mean? The PSU did a classic death scene with the smell of ozone and burnt plastic, or it just stopped working?

To go through so many PSU's on one computer is very unusual. I could see a PSU failing after a few years of use, and then maybe getting a defective PSU to replace it with . . . but to have that many go bad is statistically improbable. Something else is at play here.

How is the electrical supply in your area? Are other electronic devices failing besides your computer supply? Could be your electrical feed is subject to large dips and spikes . . . but that should also be damaging other devices in your home, not just the computer PSU. Plus, you did say you used a UPS which should have protected the PSU from any killer spikes in current.

Have you tested the failed power supplies? It seems more probable there is something wrong with your motherboard. You could have an intermittent defect on your motherboard which is making you believe the power supply is bad. I've never heard of a motherboard killing power supplies (it's normally the other way around . . . been there, done that :() but I guess it's possible.

I herd a bang then nothing is working anymore, at sometimes I could smell something burning and sometimes I couldn't smell anything, but they always went out with a bang.
When the PC was under a UPS they both went down... The UPS recovered, the PSU didn't.
In my old place I had 3 PCs and they all suffered from this (the other two not as much as mine but still) so I figured it's the electricity in the place I was at.
I recently moved to a different city but then it happened again.... So I'm completely clueless .
In both places not other electrical items had any issues.
