PSU Corsair VX450 12v 8/4 pin

hi, i have just received my VX450, it has an 8 pin 12v connector which the manual states that it is detachable to a 4 pin (which i need) I can see no way of detaching the pins, there is also a 4 pin connecter with the same colour wires (which is'nt mentioned in the manual) and i am not sure whether it is a 12v 4 pin connector.

Has anyone recently purcashed a VX450 psu and if so can you please advise

If you 8 pin detaches it should be simple, maybe it dont?

Looking at Newegg at your model - specifications it states you do have one 4x4 12v plug (CPU power connector)

Click on the Product Tour Tab next to Specifications Tab, then Look at the Photo Gallery, Put your mouse pointer on the picture of the cables :major Identification http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...er+Supplies-_-Corsair+Memory++Inc.-_-17139003

it appears that there are 2 versions of the 450, one with the detachable 8 pin and one with the 8 and 4 pin seperate, as shown in the pic on new egg, it is a pity that Corsair didn't revise the manual in the box..(for newbie's like me heh)
