I just spent about an hour at newegg looking at power supplies, and I had a heck of a time trying to find one with dual 12v rails with over 18a per rail. I found one that had 20a per rail, and one with 22a per rail. I could barely find any with over 30a on a single 12v rail. I'm looking for a PSU about 500w or more, with dual rails, and at least 25a per rail. Oh, and it should be under $100. I don't really NEED it, I'm just kind of looking. I'm currently running a 450w with dual 12v rails; 15a on each rail. I haven't had any problems, ever. I just upgraded to a Radeon x1950GT 256mb AGP card, and it has two molex power connectors, and I just want to be sure that I have ample juice. I have one SATA2 HD, 1.5gb DDR400, 2 DVD drives, 3 case fans, A64 3200+.... any thoughts?

why so much per rail? there are plenty of PSUs out there with 18A per rail but it will be tough finding one under $100

this is what I use for my rig.It runs 4 gigs, a quad ,3 sata2 drives a sata dvd 4 cooling fans and an ati 3850 and I run rock solid with 38 amps combined on the 12v rail. the minimum specs listed for video cards are given for single 12v rail psu's. a dual rail with more then 30 amps combined on 12v rail should do fine for your system
