PSU Voltages

    I brought my old computer up from storage.Compaq 533mhz.
    I had the power supply undone.I hooked it up to the motherboard only powered on and checked voltage on the unplugged drive ones.Yellow to black 11.85 that is good.
    Red to black 3.11 seems a little low to me.I thought it should be 5volts???

    Well the computer booted on first try and second and third.4th time nothing no compaq splash screen no post beeps.It must be gone???

    yes you are right the Red to black should be 5 volts so you have a bad Power Supply....

    Time for a new one :)
