Hi all, I need some help from the major geeks ;)

I use Firefox and Chrome to surf the web, and i have AVG free installed as antivirus.

Everytime I open Chrome, AVG finds a threat (PSW.Agent.AUES). I just do the default quarantine and go on, but as I said, it keeps showing everytime. Opening firefox doesn't show any warning.

Opening chrome seems to cause the creation of a folder with "c:\windows\temp\<random letters>\plugin.dll" into which is exactly the file AVG warns me about , and the one it seems I send in quarantine.

Before posting this thread I searched this forum and found this topic > http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=263387 which seems exactly my problem, so I went with the solutions offered there:

    TDSKiller and MBRCheck

But after the scan both tell me the system is clean. Still when I open chrome: the warning, the threat, the quarantine...

What is going on? I don't feel comfortable with a possible password keylogger on my computer...

First, export your bookmarks to the desktop. Then use Revo Uninstaller to remove that program.

Run CCleaner and after a reboot, re-install Chrome and import your bookmarks.

so it's somehow bound to chrome?

    Sadly this didn't work :<

Uninstalled with revo, used CCleaner, reboot, run tdsskiller just for scruple (clean) , run AVG just for scruple (clean) , download and installed freshly new chrome -> instant popup again AVG threat PSW.Agent

    :cry

what does this mean? I still can't understand if the computer is infected or avg keeps it safe quarantining everytime... but anyway why does this generate all the time I open chrome? it's an AVG problem? (false positive?)

please help me before I'll go paranoid :-D

I tried again all the above and afterwards uninstalling AVG 2012 and installing AVG 2013..

seemed to work! no popup from avg when opening chrome.. but then i went to windows/temp and there were old folders generated as in the OP .. i deleted them and instantly again the popup of AVG 'threat PSW.Agent' ... and THEN it appears AGAIN everytime I open chrome

..I dont get it ... why this behaviour? and how can I be sure my system it's clean and safe?
