I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop Running Vista Home Premium with a Dual-Core processor. Originally it was only 1 gig memory and just installed 2 Gig of memory. The Task Manager shows me only at 54% Physical Memory right now and usually between 48 and 55%. Why is it showing so low of an amount of free memory?? I have 62 running processes. What is the norm for Vista??

Vista uses the philosophy of 'unused memory=wasted memory', basically to speed things up so that Vista doesn't have to access the hard drive as much. Your memory usage is typical of Vista, don't worry as if and when an application needs the memory, Vista is very good at managing it. I haven't run Vista in a while so I can't say if 62 processes is too high or not. Anyways, adding another gig was a good choice as Vista likes the extra real estate.
