Hi all thought I'd pass on this observation.. I recently had a near burn out and thought it was me PU packed up but it turned out to be a loose Live wire connector that got red hot.. anyroad.. after taking the PU out I thought I would check the fuse so unscrewed the case and found I was looking into a full hoover bag, it was difficult to make out one component from another. I clean out the fluff from heatsink fins/fans etc. every 6/8 weeks but have never thought of cleaning the PU, and when I think of it it is one of the main intakes that draws from the back but has NO fine filter what-so-ever. So this is now on my De-Fluff list.. :)

We have a system for that in the NAVY called "PMS". No really, "Planned Maintenance System". Depending on the system and the enviroment that its located in, the equipment gets a good "clean and Inspect" every so offen. Its usally the first thing I do when working on someone computer, especially people with cats.
