Public transport etiquette.

Transperth have produced a new collection of nursery rhymes about polite behaviour on buses and trains. This one is the best I've seen so far.

Mobile phones in public space is a real thorn in side for me.
I have to make regular visits to the hospital and the number of people making and receiving calls while inside is unbelievable even though there are huge signs at all the entrances asking visitors to switch off mobile phones whilst in the hospital but they are totally egoistic and just ignore the signs without any thought for the consequences to patients.

 

Why is our medical equipment so sub standard that a cellular phone can affect it?

 

In the last five months I have spent considerable amounts of time in the hospital (at one point I suggested they start letting me rent the room as if it was an apartment because it would be MUCH cheaper!), and not only was I allowed to have my cell phone with me unless I went somewhere for testing, I had wi-fi in my room.

 

I do not know what reason they ask you to turn off telephones but i would expect it just to be a courtesy to do so for the benefit of the patients.
