:cool As a newbie am totally confused by much computer terminology. The other

day I ran into the term "ImHost file" and "word/rtf". Are these some kind of

programming terms? If not, what do they mean and what are they used for?

I tried googling them but come up with more jibberish. Thanks in advance.

rtf means Rich Text Format and the universally accepted way to send a document/text file so that people who do not have an Office Program installed can read what you email. The other way is to send something as a pdf. rtf files can be edited a bit easier than pdf so I generally send text files in that format.

I know IM and I know Hosts File but I do not know what an "imhostfile" is.
