I haven't seen this idea on here anyplace. It will be interesting to see what you looked like from about birth on to maybe 10 years old.

Hmm, I don't actually have any photos of myself as a young child or baby. I think about 18 or so is the earliest one. Have to make an effort to remember how I looked in those days:confused. Almost like my own history has been erased - peh!

 

Three ages - as a bub, as a cub and then as a teenager...

 

@ LauraR...it's now waist length and dyed a light red over the blonde, but yup, I've still got 'em.

@ Phantom...the hard part is finding a picture of myself at that age withOUT a beer. Seems my dad and step-grandfather thought it was cute. But yeah, I got to drink my fair share of "sips".

 

This is an insult now. Out of the thousands of geeks out there only 3 1/2 are brave enough to post pictures of them selves when they were young.Well I must say I hope you enjoy your animosity. Thankfully the three that did post were really good looking and not frightened by bad remarks.

I didn't mean to sound so harsh but I' m having a very bad day today. I cant catch my breath no matter how much I relax or try the way I was told . I don't want you to think it is you or anything like that. I get this way a lot but most of the time I can handle it .This is one of the times that scare me into thinking times up. Cold weather also has an effect on my condition. Darlene knows what I'm going throu.

I'm sorry to hear and understand what you're currently going through, but I also know that you're the type who can carry on regardless (your own testimony proves it).

Like a few people around here, any photos of me as a kid/baby would have been in my father's possession. Since he's been dead for nearly six years, I don't think I'll be getting hold of them any time soon rolleyes. Not an excuse – just a fact, unfortunately.
Ya never think to get hold of things like that until it’s too late – or at least, I didn’t.

Sorry Ob, yep, know how bad days are, hope it's better today. Is your shortness of breath from COPD or anxiety, or both? I'm sure that chemo played hell with your system. I have anti-anxiety medication (ativan) some doctors say it restricts your lung function but when you can't breath you become more anxious and the worse it gets. I'm assuming they suggested deep slow breathing, that helps to a point, ask them for something to help you over the rough spots. Will say a prayer for you too.

It's from both the COPD and from the lung operation. I sometimes think the doctor left someuke of the gauze packing inside:eek when he had his hand in there.I'm a little better today tho. It takes about 2 or 3 days:boxing before I am back to myself.:dancer

Darlene, meds don't help me as I only have 18% of lung capacity left.The Dr has tried:crap everything except transplant to help me to no avail so I put up with it.He tells me to use my oxygen and I refuse to cause I don't want to be tied down and dependent on a machine.:strong (already been that route) In a day or so I'll be:heli happy again.Mark my words on it.:highfive

I didn't know you had lung surgery,you poor thing, glad you feel a little better. My computer took a nap on me, waiting for my grandson to come and help me with it. Til then Dan is sharing his with me, what a guy huh.

@ Obnx:- Just hang in there bud. As said we're all here for ya.

Been down the 'big 'C' ' path, bad prognosis and remission about fifteen years back, so I at least partly appreciate the whole pain and depression thing. Still take meds for the soft bone tissue shrinkage, but hey, I'm still kickin'. Being an Asthmatic, although not half as bad as your condition, I do know not being able to even breath properly is very disturbing event, to say the least. After a few close calls nearly exactly a year back, all is on the mend, at least.

Hope you continue to improve, and look forward to you getting over the 'valley', so to speak, again.


@ Kestrel:- Sorry to hear about the fire. It's a hard feeling to describe when a valuable part of your history is no more.

Are you in line for a transplant? Do the oxygen when your on line or sleeping, it feeds your brain and some vital organs, keeps you from sitting around drooling. I'm sorry wish I could do something for you can't even get me fixed.
Damn it all the rest of you take note and quit smoking!!!!!!. It is beyond miserable.
Do you have cancer centers there? They treat the whole you, diet and all,

Welcome aboard the MG fun and be part of family place. I am not in line for a transplant ,the Doctor wont even consider it. Says I will never live throu the anistezia part. As for the oxygen I lose some of the ability to breath on my own when I use it. My lungs think for themselves and they want to relax when something else takes over the job.I spent 6 months in chemo and it put my cancer into remission for now.(hopefully forever). I am doing fine now ,not great yet but fine and am getting back to myself again.
I don't blame smoking on my problem altho it did contribute to it. I puffed for 42 years and thought I was volnerable from disease.Unfortunately I got about all there was from COPD to Cancer and more. I say " Oh well what the hell, gotta go sometime" Statistics show that if the healthy die young I got it made.

My doctor appiont. is for the 13th, next week. We will see what he has to say for himself about me. He asks such dumb questions whe I see him. Like ' how are you feeling?' your the doc you tell me.
How are you doing? You haven't been saying much about your self. Still looking forward or have minds been changed?
I had a cancer spot about the size of a quarter inside the middle lobe of my right lung.The thoracic surgeon thought it best to remove it before it grew larger. That was in 2002 and for 4 years after I was cancer free until last year.This cancer is on the outside of lungs and is inoperatable so remission is my only hope and its working so far. Cancer on the outside and COPD inside,acid reflex,hernia whoopie I got it all.And I'm still here.
This friend of mine had the same problem as me .We were in the hospital at the same time,had the same operation with the same outcome expected except he gave up and didn't leave the hospital walking. I am the exception

The only older one I have is really old one when I was about 18 (back in the late -70's some time), and in Cal. Long hair and bare feet. I won't inflict anyone with that one, lol.

Indeed you are. I totally missed this post,been having computer problems. I know what you mean about the doctors, when I go and they ask, "whats the matter", I say, "well, I have emphysema" I know, smarta$$, huh? Gets a laugh out of them anyway.
I'm still on for the surgery, had so many set backs I get embarrassed to mention it anymore. People here probably say, oh no there she goes again talking about her operation, typical old lady, lol.
I go to LA the 30th for some final arrangements, my stomach just dipped Good luck to you at you appointment.

 

Thank you Halo, the delays weren't all the doctors fault. I saw your list of endeavors recently, very impressive to say the least.

 

Everyone's pics posted are just great! Regardless what anyone says of themselves, they're still wonderful mementos.
