puter woes

thought i'd change the title funny thing is that it seems so urgent. not like I've got the secret to world peace encoded in here. just family photos, a bunch of music, and a few word processing documents. but its as if my puter not working properly is somehow important. of course the puter may have picked up on the fact that i am a secret Luddite that hates technology, which coincidently has been rather focused lately. lol aloha all

 

well things are progressing. i now have firefox. 's all good no? this is what we need on MG...a good drama lol im so impressed by people here. my heartfelt thanks to those taking so much time and trouble.

well good mornin everybody. its chucking it down on my bit of the island. rain is so loud i cant hear myself type lol. oh well, good excuse to stay indoors and carry on playing puter repair lol. anyone for coffee?

both hubby and son are still being far to nice, but as even the two dogs keep coming up as fussing me, it might be my 'dont mess with ME' attitude lol. hopefully i can get things back in order today.

i have a bunch of programs to go through and then logs of some sort i suspect. by the time im back to normal i will know everything about this puter lol. i dont really WANT to know HOW it works. i just want to press button 'a' and have 'a' come up, if you see what i mean. i keep talking soothingly to it. i dont think it helps though lol much aloha

 

well aloha saturday. its a beautiful day here, so our storm has passed. puter is still FUBAR, but i have to say what an awesome job the guys in tech do. the only reason i can post here is by the grace of the geeks. Shadowputerdude and Theefool in particular have literally spent hours painstakingly sending me step by step instructions. their patience and kindness is way way above and beyond the call of duty. at one point they even had a conference thing going. it made me feel very special and much reasured. despite the fact that i cannot download anything, they have managed to literally 'magic' files to me. at one point one of them even had me in the 'dark side' (i dont like the dark side.....its scary.....all the white writing, and flashing cursers.....demanding answers.....that i dont have....) but they made it easy as ABC. everybody has been so patient with my ignorence, without being the least patronizing about it. (coz im not stupid...just unknowledgable) the owners of this site have cause to be proud of what they have created.

meanwhile i have allowed the men in my life to speak to me lol. hubby brought in take out last night and so reminded me of a dog offering me a bone, that i just couldnt keep up the level of anger.
i dont argue or shout (these days) i simply withdraw.
we have conversations like
"any plans for dinner dear?"
"now you can see that im busy, please help yourself, my kitchen is your kitchen......dear"
its hardly subtle. but they both know better than to ask whats wrong. just in case i tell them.
when i get puter fixed i will enter strickter controls on it, other than that there is no point stewing on whos fault it is. (and you never know...they could be innocent)

we have fresh ground kona coffee from a friend with a coffee farm...........i cannot tell you how good it is. someone needs to invent 'smellovision' like the webcam and mike thing.

Of course, smellovision would have it's downside. With the infatuation that some males have with farting, you could have some really bad smells wafting out of your computer.

well puter seems to be back!!! although im not sure, it curtainly got here quickly enough, and changed pages etc. there are still logs to go through but im keeping my fingers crossed. happy sunday everyone.
