qiuck question

hi guys, i just wanted to know if i should use the disc clean up (i don't really know what it'll do so i wanted to ask people who would know). i like playing games but recently during a game my computer will just shut down. could the disc space be the problem?
if so should i use the disc clean up button?

That is a common symptom of the overheating!! Particularly if you are running an intense game (Heavy Duty Graphics) like some of these new games that involve movie like graphics!! Or possibly if you have too much running in the background whilie playing the game!! The harder the computer has to work...the more heat it puts out!!

Odds are the bios has a setting in it to shut down and reeboot the comp if the internal temperature reaches a certain "dangerous" temperature!! It is a failsafe measure to keep the internal components (motherboadr, cpu, etc.) from literally melting!!

If you are overclocked...tune it back to the failsafe defaults and see if that makes a difference!!

I would try googling for a free onboard systems monitoring program that...after you install...you can access it anytime while working on the comp, in order to see what the current operating temp is, while you are requesting the labor intensive actions of the system!!

Also...does it do it while doing anything else?? Or just while playing the game??

You should use disk cleanup anyway. It will just delete temporary files from your computer that you don't need. A better option is CCleaner (crap cleaner), does the same thing but better, it's free, search for it in google. However, I don't think lack of space would cause the game to crash. Could be your computer's over heating, or maybe the game needs patching, is it up to date? Check the application error log in admisitration tools to get a better idea of why its crashing.
