question about dr web results

    i left dr web runing over night and one of the things i got was 2 counts of "gtdownls_125.oxc" (Adware.Gdown)

    i also got one count off UUPlayer_bak.exe (Adware.UUSe.origin)

    i also got sopadver.exe (Adware.Sopcast)

    these were marked as adware im wondering do they serve any real purpose or should i get rid of them

    Do you have a linksys router?

    Personally I would give SUPERantispyware and MalwareBytes a run and quarantine all they find.

    I came up with the same results as you I have not found a use for them yet. Did you Dr web give you a suggestion or recommend what to do with the files.
    Do you have the option to quarantine them. If you have that option use it then continue to use your pc if you have an issue related to the files then you can restore them if not then leave them in quarantine if after a few days no issues arise then delete them.
    Sorry i didnt have a better resolution for you. But if you hang on someone else may have a better suggestion

    Do be careful then about quarantining or deleting what dr web is finding. I have to run off now, but be aware alot of these could be FP's. Would definately put my trust into SAS and MBAM though :)
