Question about SLI . . .

I have an NVidia GTX260 video card, the "core 216" variety. I want to run a 2nd one in SLI, and I have an opportunity to grab another GTX260 for CHEAP, but it's one of the older "core 192" versions. How will the difference of 24 shaders effect SLI? Will the c216 card 'step down' to 192? Or will they operate OK in SLI? Of course, the card with higher clock speeds will have to 'step down' to match the slower card (unless I OC the slower card ;) ).

    Thanks!

I would think so, but not %100.

    I'll do some reading.

Thanks, I haven't had any time recently to do any research on my own, I will do so this weekend. But in the meantime, if you (or anyone else) has some insight, it will be appreciated!
    :-D

LOL Here we are 3 weeks later and I finally got around to reading the info in the link.... THANKS!!! It answered my questions perfectly... it seems that using a c192 card with a c216 card in SLI is totally possible, and it doesn't take much of a performance hit when compared to two c216 cards in SLI.... good to know!
