Question About Updating AV...

Hey there,
My Dad has McAfee AV on his computer. He is stuck with dial-up because of where he lives. He said he couldn't download his updates from McAfee because the file was around 65MB. Although I don't have McAfee, I downloaded it on my computer then burned it on a disc for him. When we went to open the files on his computer, it kept saying that it couldn't find a McAfee program. It is on there and running, just out of date with the defs. His actual license doesn't expire until March 2013. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if I'm just not able to do this for him. We both have Windows 7, btw. Can anyone tell me how to do this for him? He let it run most of the night, and when he got up early that morning, it was only about 50% done. He can't let it run all day because my Mom works for the county Sheriff's dept and they need the line left open as much as possible. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.
