Question about VB Database app - vb05 conversion to vb08

I am having a problem with converting a simple database program written in VB05 to VB08. First off, I am looking at two msaccess databases. One is MSAccess '03 (i think...). The other is MSAccess '07. The two databases, aside from access versions, are exactly the same; same tables, same records... Basically, I exported the access 07 db into a access 03 db. This is for an assignment at school (yay). Prof. wants vb08, but I have yet to install 08 at my home, so I have been using 05 and converting my assignments to 08 before turning them in... Anyway... I have a findDB() sub in the application that allows a user to locate the DB by browsing through files. The connection string changes accordingly. This function works fine at home (on the vb05 app, with access 03 db's) assuming that the db's have the same tables and such, which is ok for my purposes right now. It won't of course load an access '07 db, no surprise. Now here is the problem. When I converted this application to vb08, the conversion went fine as far as I can see, but the app still won't load access '07 db's. It will still load the '03 access db. At first I thought it might be my findDB() sub, but I have tested and I no longer think that. If I do this same program in vb08, it works out fine. The connection strings use the same JET version on both the vb05 and vb08 apps, but a conversion from vb05 to vb08 won't load an access 07 db. I believe I can get around this easily enough but still, I am wondering if anyone knows why this won't work. Thanks in advance for your time.
