Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit - the laptop's owner has a corrupt user profile hive, which isn't a big deal (I can probably fix it, but she's going with a clean Win7 install in the next couple of days and wants her stuff saved), but she apparently uses the Windows Calendar feature a lot, and I can't seem to find where Vista stores the Calendar file. She also uses Works extensively, and is pretty much a noob so she doesn't really know if she's using the Works Calendar, or the Windows Calendar, and I don't use either one so they might even be the same for all I know! :-o I searched for files named MSWKSCAL.*** because I don't know what extension Works 9.0 uses for the calendar; I think it's .wcd. Anyway- there are three MSWKSCAL.WCD files, two are 688kb, and the other is only 184kb. So I'll definitely save those WCD files, but if she actually uses the Windows Calendar and not the Works Calendar, I'll be dead-in-the-water if I don't find it and back it up... anyone????
    :confused

    THANKS!
    :-D

Thanks, but with a corrupt user profile, none of the apps run correctly, and the faw that do run OK, they don't 'connect' with her personal files (like her personal calendar).

HOWEVER- I just finished repairing the corrupt profile (for the most part), so I'll check out that link in-depth and see if it helps! Thanks again hrlow2!

:cry After talking to the owner of the PC, it turns out that the initial cause of the user profile corruption was a failed attempt at repairing a previously (and presently) corrupt Works! :crybaby I opened Windows Calendar and it was totally empty, so either all the data was lost during the profile corruption, or she was using the Works Calendar, not the Windows Calendar which is the most likely scenario since the Works Calendar files are 644kb and the Windows Calendar is only 1kb....

So- I guess this means "Problem Solved" at least for now.....
    :confused
    Maybe?
