I recently started using Zone Alarm as my Firewall and I have a question!

On the main screen where it shows the number of blocked access attempts, how often does this number change for you? While browsing online and while not browsing?

Here is the screen I am talking about ...

When I have my connection on, not browsing the Internet, the number climbs by at least 1-5 every second. While only having it for 2 hours, it told me it had blocked over 2000 attempts.

Is this normal? Or do I have a serious problem?

    Thanks all!

That's normal, activity of that nature is usually random port scanning; someone looking for an unprotected computer.

as well as random port scanning, it can also occur from your ISP or a reciently visited website just saying "hey you still online/on our site"

and if ZA says they are blocked then its doing its job.
