Hi,I read your forum every chance I get and have learned so much from Major Geeks ( I tip my hat to all you people on the staff ). My question is how are these people getting infected with Smitfraud, SpySheriff, SpyAxe & PSGuard. I'm seeing a lot of this on your site, where are they getting it from,,,,e-mails,,,bad sites,,,porno sites,,,,ect. It seems like these top four are running wild this month.

No one ever seems to be able to tell us where they get most of what they get. (In some case they may not want to tell us where they were surfing. ;) )

It could be any of the things you mentioned. Often people just get fooled by messages that popup and the click on things they should just be closing.

Thanks Chaslang,I've learned along time ago to never click on popup windows or things that sound to good to be true. I don't even touch these windows I just blow them off using Ctrl Alt Del and poof there gone.

Yes! But many people (especially novices) get scared into popups giving their IP addresses an PC name and telling them they are being watched or have a virus. It makes them click on the popup links. The same thing happens in some emails when someone gets an official looking email from a bank (that may be their actual bank) but it is false. They are fishing for info to come back from you.
