question on desktops

I don't know if this qualifies for any of the support forums, so i'm posting this here. My friend changes his desktop wallpaper like every day. so the question here is can changing your desktop everyday mess with your system?

 

Not that I'm aware of. In fact there are programs available which change your wallpaper at whatever interval you specify...daily, hourly, randomly, at boot-up, etc.

 

Yes, if he is hap-hazzardly downloading these wallpapers, themes, screensavers and other visual desktop whatevers from flimsy, questionable, un-secure and untrusted sites the risk they contain worms, virus's and other evil malware is a reality and risky.

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND I do agree with Wavetar excessive changes to the desktop wallpaper is designed only as a visual that requires minimal memory, screen resolution and color quality settings:

If the sites he is aquiring all these wallpapers, themes, screensavers and other visual whatevers are downloaded from authentic, secure and trusted sites reduces the evil coded downloads significantly (EVIL THOUGH RARE CAN HAPPEN HERE TOOOO).

If your friend/associate is spending this time on the work computer he is probably just procrastinating the inevitable.
If only on his personal computer I think he more likely enjoys the simple skill(s) one masters to make these changes and is amoung thousands like my self enjoying the soooo many available changes and finds it to hard to settle with just one.
