Question on new AdAware

As listed here on todays front page. Question being: Huh? Is this the "new improved" AdAware? Is version6.0 obsolete? Only asking because adAware 6.0 is reporting "no new updates" and there's an update for AdAware SE on front page also.

 

I was confused, too. THanks for asking Bill, I guess I'll download the new version and give it a shot!

Thanks Halo. I thought as much. Okay, it's downloaded and I'll install later.

 

It didn't run faster for me, but it sure cleaned some stuff that wasn't showing up before! I was wondering if the hosts file stuff should be cleaned, though.....I put Nicks Host File list in my host file, but I know it contained much more than 80 entries. Did they get corrupted? Should I remove these entries?

Hey EC, GMTA I just installed and ran the new AdAwareSE and picked up 38 Hosts file processes. But then, struck by just a little smarts, I checked them against the Spybot host file list and they were there. I put them on ignore until we get another opinion, but I think we're right and AdAwareSE just picked up a false positive from the SB hosts file blockers. Oh yeah, like in your case too, it showed a LOT fewer processes than SpyBot puts in the Hosts file.

It includes Process Modules under Running Processes.....What are Process Modules?
